If Jacinda Ardern's popularity were rated on traffic lights...

Never before has New Zealand seen as much public outcry against a leader as there is right now. From Twitter feeds spiralling with the #ResignJacinda hashtag, to Facebook fans smothering her posts with outraged comments, to Gabbers posting about the similarities between Ardern's media-driven campaign and Joseph Goebbels propaganda machine - the jury is clearly in with a resounding guilty verdict.

Ardern is looking at the beginning of the end. Her dogged double-down on mandatory vaccination and admission that she has deliberately created two classes of kiwis - the vaccinated and the unvaccinated - was a big mistake. Even fully vaccinated New Zealanders have now had enough of her.

If it wasn't bad enough that the Red Queen has probably the slowest Covid-19 response in the Western world, her latest traffic light system has left us all wondering what the hell new drugs she's been consuming. It is clear that her traffic lights are designed to offer hope, but deliver yet another empty promise. There is no guarantee of an end to lockdowns, just a vague plan for when unvaccinated people will be excluded from society.

She's also made it clear that the government is considering mandatory vaccination for retail and hospitality. That's a whole new round of job losses yet to come.

The Prime Minister has foolishly left herself wide open. Unlike Hitler, Ardern has to win the war on multiple digital fronts, and unless she shuts down social media it looks like she's got one hell of a battle on her hands!
